I just had the pleasure of spending four days at Burble’s House, and – at the risk of sounding gushy – I really can’t say enough good things about the experience. I’ve done a lot of traveling for skydiving events, and stayed at a lot of places; this was far and away the nicest.
The house is located at the end of dead-end street in a quiet residential neighborhood. Despite all the nearby neighbors, the large fenced yard and open space next to it manage to make it feel secluded and private. The house itself is lovely: newly remodeled, tastefully decorated, and well-maintained. The central air and heat are efficient and easy to control; you can keep the temperature right where you want it. The bedrooms are nicely sized, the linens are soft and not industrial-feeling, and the mattresses are heavenly. (Seriously.) The kitchen has all new appliances, and is thoughtfully equipped with everything you might need: pans, knives, cutting boards, corkscrews, and a Keurig coffee machine. The bathroom is likewise stocked with soap, shampoo, and body wash in the shower. It’s clear that every effort has been made to make guests feel comfortable and at home.
More important than any of that, though, is the fact that it’s a quick, easy drive to where you want to be: just over 10 minutes to the tunnel, and a little more than 15 to the dz. En route, you pass several restaurants, a liquor store, a Food Lion, and a WalMart – you can pick up anything you need on the drive home.
Everything about my stay at Burble’s House was enjoyable. My only complaint is that the dog doesn’t come with the rental. Include Burble herself, and it would be perfect!
We traveled to Fayetteville, North Carolina and stayed at Burble’s House. We had 6 adults in our party and 2 of us very tall. It is hard for extra tall people to find comfortable beds to sleep in. Burble’s House offered “queen” and “king” beds (most rentals offer double and twin beds). Beds were nice and comfortable and the linens were quality. We all slept very well. Dead end street was very quiet. Location of the house is great for easy access to groceries, gas and eating places. The owner is very organized and meticulous. He thought of everything. House was very clean and well cared for. We all agreed that we would stay at Burble’s House again.
